THE CHANEL WOMAN

Hello Dears!

One of the things that made me fell in love with fashion very early in life was...the ability to dream that it gave me...In my mind, clothes were not only clothes, they were companions to fantastic stories that I created in my mind, when sketching a little dress I used to think on "my woman's" life, not only how she looked but where did she come from, what would she achieve and obviously they were always living fabulous lives and embracing who they were to the fullest...they were like my "fashion super heroes" if you will!!! :)

One of my favorite fashion super heroes would be THE CHANEL WOMAN...I wanted to share with you a little inspiration of what I feel its the perfect style journey for a Chanel-ette :D (should be a word!)...I used actual chronological reference to the iconic pieces that Coco designed in different moments of her life and that were deeply linked to were she came from like the white collar dress resembling the little uniforms she had at Aubazine's catholic orphanage where she was raised...or where she went, like the sailor "Breton" stripe top that she presented on her 1917's nautical collection which was inspired in local fisherman that she observed during a visit on the french coast...And well, of course the tweed jacket which needs no introduction as it is an institution in itself!

In her 20's our Chanel Girl starts to discover the elegance of Chanel in a very shy and delicate way, she draws about her dreams and fears...she is yet to discover the power within her...Then, we have our Chanel Woman, she is probably in her 30's or 40's  at this point she knows who she is, she likes it and she is not afraid to wear the pants! both literally and figuratively speaking!! I imagine her being an Art dealer or curator, she is smart, cleaver, a cultured gal who knows exactly where she stands and where she wants to go...And then finally we have our Chanel Lady, she is now on her 50's or 60's, I imagine her to evolve into an Art collector! She is successful and spunky but extremely classy, she has nothing to prove because she is...THE BOSS!

Well my lovelies, I hope you enjoyed my little imaginary journey...do you identify part of yourself in her?

As always thank you for stopping by!

Liliana.

Feeling Gooood!!

Feeling Gooood!!

Hey Dears!

Feeling Good? I can imagine that I am not the only one that once in a while haves one of those mornings, those terrible mornings where you wake up, look at the mirror and say: "Oh My Gosh I look like I got into a fight with Pacquiao!!!" hahaha. Your skin is not having the best morning, your hair just won't cooperate, you try all the things in your closet, even your favorite outfits for god's sake! and still you don't feel your best....:( What I do in those days? I dress all in BLACK! :)

Yeap, since I was a little girl I loved black, and let's stop for a minute and think that I grew up in a time where black was not a common color for kids to wear, not at all, there was no animal print for children, or anything like it, so imagine my mother's face when I was 6 and told her I wanted all my hair bows to go to school to be BLACK!!! She thought she had Rosemarie's Baby or something! hahaha. Even a girl in my class actually asked me if I was in mourning and since I didn't knew what that word meant I replied with an insult! haha(if you're out there...sorry girl!). In my adolescence I was not gothic at all or wear black lipstick...is just, I enjoyed beautiful black clothes and accesories, they made me feel good!!! :D

Nowadays, whenever I'm having one of those mornings I dress with my favorite black garments, wear my best black sunnies, killer black shoes and just minimal jewelry and voila!!!! I feel better...actually...I FEEL GOOOOOOD!!!

The inspirational outfit today might seem a l-i-t-t-l-e OliviaNewtownJohn-ish :D but I just love feminine pieces mixed with rocker ones, so leather pants with lace peplum! Hello!!!♥♥♥

Well, I just shared one corky thing about me and I will invite you to try it on one of those days, who knows maybe it works for you too ;) the only cardinal rule here is: THEY ALL HAVE TO BE FABULOUS PIECES!!! Black yoga pants, and shapeless t-shirts DON'T count!

Thanks for stopping by...means the world :)

Lines I Love!!! ♥

Lines I Love ♥

Hello Dears,

I've missed you :) This time on "Lines I Love" I want to share with you about: ZARA.

So, this store has been one of my favorites for many many years, first time I visited this store was in 1991 (please DO NOT DO THE MATH! ;)) an addict was born! and since then, their garments have rotate in my wardrobe with lasting grace and endurance ha-ha...I kid you not, I have skirts and blouses I bought literally 10 years ago and I still get compliments about them! That is the beauty of ZARA, they very successfully achieve collections that are current and very "NOW" and at the same time deliver items that can last you a long time without looking dated.

Now, quality and budget wise it is important to point out that my beloved has different lines within the brand: ZARA WOMAN, ZARA BASIC and TRAFALUC also known as TRF. WOMAN has the most exquisite cuts with more of an adult appeal and it is easy to figure that it's meant for the career woman that has a a bigger wallet if you know what I mean...BASIC has the garments that are a "must" for all kinds of styles and appeals to a wide range of tastes, this include both essential layering pieces and also the "off the moment" items that are affordable and very often mimic what we've seen on the runways but for a much more affordable price and in a "toned down" interpretation :) Last but not least TRF, which is the younger face of the brand, on this one the hems are much more shorter, the cuts are way more edgier and it is dedicated to a younger crowd...which means that on terms of cost this is the "low end" option but in no way less fabulous than the other two ;)

As you can see I'm a Lover and if you have questions about this brand please let me know, I consider myself an expert and I proudly can say that I've been in ZARAS from 7 countries and I spent most of my 20's income in them!! I think that if shopping was like the army...this would make me...a ZARA LIUTENANT GENERAL!! At the very least!! :D

Thank You as always for stopping by!!!

Unexpected!

Unexpected!

Hi Dears,

Sorry for the days of absence, last couple of days where a whirlwind and lots of fun, part of it was, I had a totally unexpected invitation for drinks, so picture this: I am in my house ready to have a much needed session of DVR :) I had like 3 weeks of shows and series piling up...so I prepared the territory...I am in my PJ's, I have my noodle soup on the side (I know what an adventurous gal am I ha-ha...such a bore), and In Style Magazine and VOGUE also ready (they serve a purpose during the commercials because I prefer not to fast forward and rather use that time to "multitask" and check into the latest trends :) So there I was...and then phone rings and it turns out my friends are two blocks from my building! and invite me to go to a local bar to have some drinks and listen to some 80's music!!! Alcohol & 80's??? PJ's are off!!! :) I had literally 5 minutes to get ready and luckily I was lazy and still had my makeup on from the day...I had to think fast and this is the easiest fastest outfit I could come up with. Strapples Top (I just slide in to), a pop of color with the Jeans, Clutch, Botties and my Peplum Leather Jacket (I live in this thing!! I almost shower with this on :))and to top it all...the HERO of the night, this Zara Necklace that is stunning, chunky and definitely takes the outfit to a level of sophistication that its appropriate for the occasion.

Hope you like my "express" outfit ;) and just in case you where wondering...YES the night turned out to be AWESOME , and I am glad that I said YES to the invitation, even if it was so so so short notice!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Liliana.
