THE CHANEL WOMAN

CCgirl

CCWoman

CClady

Hello Dears!

One of the things that made me fell in love with fashion very early in life was...the ability to dream that it gave me...In my mind, clothes were not only clothes, they were companions to fantastic stories that I created in my mind, when sketching a little dress I used to think on "my woman's" life, not only how she looked but where did she come from, what would she achieve and obviously they were always living fabulous lives and embracing who they were to the fullest...they were like my "fashion super heroes" if you will!!! :)

One of my favorite fashion super heroes would be THE CHANEL WOMAN...I wanted to share with you a little inspiration of what I feel its the perfect style journey for a Chanel-ette :D (should be a word!)...I used actual chronological reference to the iconic pieces that Coco designed in different moments of her life and that were deeply linked to were she came from like the white collar dress resembling the little uniforms she had at Aubazine's catholic orphanage where she was raised...or where she went, like the sailor "Breton" stripe top that she presented on her 1917's nautical collection which was inspired in local fisherman that she observed during a visit on the french coast...And well, of course the tweed jacket which needs no introduction as it is an institution in itself!

In her 20's our Chanel Girl starts to discover the elegance of Chanel in a very shy and delicate way, she draws about her dreams and fears...she is yet to discover the power within her...Then, we have our Chanel Woman, she is probably in her 30's or 40's  at this point she knows who she is, she likes it and she is not afraid to wear the pants! both literally and figuratively speaking!! I imagine her being an Art dealer or curator, she is smart, cleaver, a cultured gal who knows exactly where she stands and where she wants to go...And then finally we have our Chanel Lady, she is now on her 50's or 60's, I imagine her to evolve into an Art collector! She is successful and spunky but extremely classy, she has nothing to prove because she is...THE BOSS!

Well my lovelies, I hope you enjoyed my little imaginary journey...do you identify part of yourself in her?

As always thank you for stopping by!

ESSENTIALS & TRENDS: The Plaid Button Down

S.I.I.

RR

B.C

Hi Dears!!

So the cold winter should be here, although in my town it hasn't really kicked in, this week we had days around 80 degrees! That is what inspired me to share this essential which is also a huge trend right now! This is a garment that you will be able to have for years and years and you will get a lot of use out of it...I can go on and on about all the great things about them but lets go to the point:

VERSATILITY: As you can see on my inspirations you can take your shirt from edgy to preppy to sophisticated in a snap! just by adding a pair of distressed jeans, a trench coat or a pencil skirt!
COMFORT: Plaid shirts often are made of flannel or a nice blen of cotton and .... so this means that they are not only cozy but also they only get better in time, the more you use them the softer they will get. Also, they are not tight (or they shouldn't be) so you always feel
like you can move around because the look is meant to be a relaxed and cool one!
LONGEVITY: Even though we are seeing this trend everywhere we go now,  plaid has always been around in one way or another so investing in a nice plaid shirt will definitely pay off because pretty much they never go out of style :)

Here a few great options:
UNDER $20
UNDER $60
UNDER $100
UNDER $150

Enjoy shopping and thanks for stopping by!

Little Wonder Dress

WP

CL

BS

Hi Dears,

Everyone that knows me knows that I looove looove looove dresses, I am pretty sure at least half of my wardrobe are dresses and maybe a little more than that. I just find dresses such an ideal and practical garment, you can play them up or down with accessories and they make the outfit building process so easy, not too mention they are comfty to wear all day...

Once in while comes a dress that achieves both visual interest and versatility, I found this amazing printed little dress that its already coming my way ;D and I wanted to share with you how I am already envisioning myself in it!!

If you want to get it don't hesitate and leave me a comment :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Good & Bad

GB

Hi Dears!!

For me the fun thing about expressing thru fashion is that, each time you get to tell a different story depending on what you decide to pair your "main character" with, mine is this Tiffany blue dress, I actually added the bow necklace ;) it looks like part of the dress huh? As you know I love a multipurpose garment so I though of a day look for the goody two-shoes in all of us and one for the night when we are aloud to be baaaaad :D....

So which one you prefer?? Good or Bad?

Love as always,

Liliana

UNAPOLOGETIC

U

Hello Dears!!

You, you and you that enjoy stylish and fabulous things as much as I do ♥ ...Have you ever felt judged because of your passion for fashion?? I know I have, and you know what? this outfit is my response to all those people that I have felt judged by!!! -Haha :D

I mean, I totally respect people who don't consider fashion important in their lives and I leave them live in peace :) so, all I ask is a little reciprocity here! Have you ever come across with someone that criticize you or looks at you thinking that because you are super fashionable you don't have any other thing to offer and immediately assume that your appreciation for style must be inversely related to your IQ? Well if you have, I invite you to show the polite alternative to a hand-sign and instead, give them an unapologetic display of elegance, allure and fabulosity! Take this "judgettes" haha...

True, our importance is related to the positive impact that we make, the lessons learned, the love we share, our growth and evolution as human beings and the understanding and compassion we show in our life experiences...BUT why not face these in a cute dress and amazing shoes if possible! I don't see the harm in that! do you? ;)

As always...Thanks for stopping by!

Feeling Gooood!!

Feeling Gooood!!

Hey Dears!

Feeling Good? I can imagine that I am not the only one that once in a while haves one of those mornings, those terrible mornings where you wake up, look at the mirror and say: "Oh My Gosh I look like I got into a fight with Pacquiao!!!" hahaha. Your skin is not having the best morning, your hair just won't cooperate, you try all the things in your closet, even your favorite outfits for god's sake! and still you don't feel your best....:( What I do in those days? I dress all in BLACK! :)

Yeap, since I was a little girl I loved black, and let's stop for a minute and think that I grew up in a time where black was not a common color for kids to wear, not at all, there was no animal print for children, or anything like it, so imagine my mother's face when I was 6 and told her I wanted all my hair bows to go to school to be BLACK!!! She thought she had Rosemarie's Baby or something! hahaha. Even a girl in my class actually asked me if I was in mourning and since I didn't knew what that word meant I replied with an insult! haha(if you're out there...sorry girl!). In my adolescence I was not gothic at all or wear black lipstick...is just, I enjoyed beautiful black clothes and accesories, they made me feel good!!! :D

Nowadays, whenever I'm having one of those mornings I dress with my favorite black garments, wear my best black sunnies, killer black shoes and just minimal jewelry and voila!!!! I feel better...actually...I FEEL GOOOOOOD!!!

The inspirational outfit today might seem a l-i-t-t-l-e OliviaNewtownJohn-ish :D but I just love feminine pieces mixed with rocker ones, so leather pants with lace peplum! Hello!!!♥♥♥

Well, I just shared one corky thing about me and I will invite you to try it on one of those days, who knows maybe it works for you too ;) the only cardinal rule here is: THEY ALL HAVE TO BE FABULOUS PIECES!!! Black yoga pants, and shapeless t-shirts DON'T count!

Thanks for stopping by...means the world :)

Extraordinary Simple

Extraordinary Simple

Hello Dears!

Hopefully better weather is around the corner and the days to meet with our girlfriends for cold cappuccinos are too :) Now, there might be times when the date with our besties will not be at a Starbucks or Coffee Bean, let's say it will be at the new trendy cafeteria that has become the hotspot...What to wear?? You know it's going to be a social scene but you don't want to look overdressed either...My answer: Keep it Simple...with a little flirty twist!! ;)

White T-shirt and Jeans when done right can be simple BUT never ordinary! Here, I show you a perfect example were the top offers a very unique surprise that makes it super flattering also. The bag from Ted Baker is a fantastic way to welcome the spring, it has so many different colors that for sure you will be able to wear time and again with a wide variety of things (you know I love an intelligent purchase ;)) and surely will add originality to any ensemble. And what can I say about the shoes ♥♥!!!

Top everything off with your fave perfume and lip gloss and off you go!!

If you fell in love with the bag the name is HAILLIE and you can find it here ;)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Damage Control

Damage Control

Hi Dears!

So, let's face it...In the next couple of weeks we will surrender to a sea of yummy holiday foods, desserts and more :), this is the one time of the year when we look forward to visiting our love ones and taste all the wonderful delicacies that are part of our cultures :) The one thing though, that we don't look forward to, is the aftermath ha-ha meaning the few pounds that we will probably be gaining, and I say if it's in the name of the holidays SO BE IT! :D But, while "things" go back to normal and we can fit into our skinny jeans again, we need some "Damage Control" Options to look cute and pulled together and here are two that will give us a comfortable fit while still showing we care ;)
I don't know about you but a floral dress and well manicured hands always make me feel good and pretty no matter what :D

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Office Toast & Christmas Party

Office Christmas Party

Hey hey! :)

Time has come for the Office Christmas Celebrations and depending of the seriousness and formality of the event I have thought of the typical scenarios that could present:

1.-Small Toast held at the office; for this you just need to be appropriate to transition from work day to celebratory elegance, this is probably the trickiest one because obviously you are not showing up at the office at 9AM wearing sequins! ha-ha, but if you keep your outfit sleek and just add a distinctive touch of shine (in this example the signature necklace) you will be just fine ;)

2.-Christmas Dinner with the colleagues at a fancy restaurant; this calls for a little more glamour but without overdoing it, I thought of this all-creme option because it screams Winter Wonderland and it will definitely set you apart from the other 15 girls from your office who will be wearing "the little black dresses"...

3.-Christmas Party at a Ballroom or Venue; this is a great opportunity to pull out the big guns, showing up looking stunning! and if you are pretty conservative with your office wardrobe and normally live in slacks and button-downs, this is the chance to shock everybody at the party with an ultra-feminine ballroom-worthy dress!!! In the one I've chosen you could dance all night long and literally be the Belle of the Ball!!! :)

LADY PUNK

LADY PUNK

Hello Dears!

I wanted to share with you my ideal everyday outfit, it's comfy, easy to put together and functional for the in-between seasons climate. Style-wise this perfectly embodies my personality, the peplum top brings in the feminine form-fitting lines that I love while the plaid pants and the punkish jewelry bring a little sass to it ;) and what can I say about the shoes!!! let's just say I LOVE LOVE LOVE any Black & White accessory ♥ and if you have seen my other posts it's pretty evident.

If you have questions about any of the items in this ensemble please leave a comment below :)

Thanks for stopping by!
